BIOGRAPHY

Hi! I'm Rayza Maldonado, born and raised in Yabucoa, PR. I love being innovative, adventurous, and spontaneous, constantly learning from others and nurturing myself from social interactions and relations. Individuality is beautiful because it makes interacting with others enriching.

I'm eager to help others and see change. My interest in psychology arises from a genuine interest in contributing to society and recognizing our ability to work on ourselves, which has been strengthened by my own experiences and those around me.

ACADEMIC PREPARATION

I completed a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. Also, I finished a master's degree and a Ph.D., both in Clinical Psychology, from Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU).

I have a certification as an ADHD - Certified Clinical Service Provider (ADHD-CCSP).

CLINICAL AND RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Within my clinical and research experience, I have worked with different populations, including minors and adults. I have presented at national and international congresses and conferences on mental health in children and forensic psychology. In Puerto Rico, I have won scholarships and awards for research at my university's congresses and the College of Medical Surgeons of Puerto Rico. I completed an internship in the PHSU-Primary Care Psychology Program at SANOS Corporation.

Currently, I have my own private practice as a License Clinical Psychologist in Puerto Rico.

OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE

At the professional level, I have experience in the university environment, collaborating with educational institutions and student affairs, developing activities of interest to strengthen students' social and emotional aspects.

BUSINESS OWNER

Also, I'm the owner of Motus PR, a business dedicated to providing the necessary equipment to assist and promote physical activity for people with integral health in mind.
